Week 4 consisted of finishing up our time in Seattle and heading to Leavenworth, WA… a small Bavarian town where our friends, the Sharpes are staying for the summer. They let us park on the side of their parents’ home, just outside of the main strip of the adorable and culturally rich town and we enjoyed many sweet things with our friends. Things like: playing ball in the big grassy back yard with amazing mountains as the back drop, swimming and pretending in the kiddie pool, walking to and enjoying an ice cold river bank, pretzels and beer, listened to a talented story teller who played the accordion and yodeled, mommies went on a morning bike ride, cooked and shared meals outside and on the outside deck, enjoying the amazing temperatures, light sprinkles and gorgeous skies and views, went to a simple farm/park and enjoyed a picnic lunch and lots of inexpensive fun, bought and tasted aplets and cotlets for the first time, went to a local gingerbread house and enjoyed fresh gingerbread cookies.
Thank you to the Sharpes for a good time!
Now we are in Northern Idaho enjoying Coeur d’Alene. Tomorow we will venture further east to Missoula, Montana and stay there all week to enjoy the amenities of a KOA.
We are still having fun. Definitely are hearing lots of phrases and thoughts about missing home and for sure having times of feeling sick of each other in such close quarters. I wish I could post some of the pictures of our horrible moments and complainy/whiny/angry faces, but out of respect and privacy of our children, and Jeff and I, I have decided not to:) Shameful moments… but nothing too big for learning, forgiving and regular start overs.
Hi Jeff and Amy, I have enjoyed all your news letters and pictures of your adventures. This place , Leavenworth , is a beautiful place, I have never been there . I appreciated seeing the photos of it. Also, great photos of your kids. They seem to be really enjoying their extended vacation. You have a beautiful family. I keep you in my prayers for traveling mercies and a safe trip home. God bless you , aunt Jo
